About This Journey

This workshop brings guests into the lively world of Sichuan shadow puppetry through both watching and making. Guests will first learn the basic background of shadow puppetry, including its materials, characters, folk stories, and performance style. A short viewing or live demonstration allows guests to experience how leather figures, light, screen, voice, and movement come together. Afterwards, guests will create a simple shadow puppet figure and try basic movements behind the screen. The experience is interactive, visual, and especially suitable for families, students, and cultural groups.
