About This Journey

This half-day experience offers a gentle and accessible entry into Tibetan culture through craft, image, material, and food. Depending on the teacher, venue, and group interest, the workshop can focus on one of three directions: Tibetan appliqué embroidery, Thangka-inspired painting practice, or tsampa making. Each format introduces guests to a different side of Tibetan life — from sacred imagery and textile work to everyday food traditions. The experience is designed to be respectful, hands-on, and easy to understand. Guests do not need previous art or craft experience. Workshop Options Option A|Tibetan Appliqué Workshop 西藏堆绣体验 Guests learn about Tibetan textile art, colors, fabric layering, symbolic patterns, and the patience behind appliqué craft. They will create a simple decorative piece inspired by Tibetan visual elements. Option B|Thangka-Inspired Painting Workshop 唐卡体验 Guests learn basic Thangka imagery, lines, colors, and symbolic order. This is not a formal Thangka training, but a beginner-friendly creative experience inspired by the tradition. Option C|Tsampa Making Experience 糌粑制作体验 Guests learn about tsampa as an everyday Tibetan food, its ingredients, eating habits, and cultural meaning. They will mix and shape tsampa by hand and taste it with tea or simple pairings.
